This place was a perfect respite. A charming historic hotel with modest rooms and, blessedly, no TVs. Hot showers and real cotton bedding (no gross polyester comforters). Very reasonably priced and friendly staff. The restaurant downstairs is what makes it. AMAZING food. Best salmon we had in our week in Alaska. Breakfast was just as good. A great place to relax.

Great location to start an adventure in Wrangell St. Elias. The owner, Susan, was very helpful and is a great cook. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again in the future!

Food was great and interior is charming. It's a little on the pricey side but not bad for the area and for the quality of food. The fettuccine Alfredo with salmon was delicious and filling, perfect after a backpacking trip. The hotel accommodation is also quaint and quiet. Rooms are well lit and clean, with a good amount of space in the room and friendly service. There is also some food and a bar nearby. Location and distance outside Wrangell St. Elias National Park makes it a perfect stopping point for long drives to or from the park.

It would be easy to pass this place by, but you would be missing out on a little gem if you did. This little hotel has a lot of history and the owner is knowledgeable about the whole area. The hotel has its own bar and restaurant and we enjoyed superb food and service while we were there. It’s in the center of town, so walkable to everywhere. The rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.

A great find in real Alaska! Friendly hosts. Our room was perfect for our family and just barely big enough, but it was fine because all we were doing was sleeping there. There is a nice lounge area with board games to help pass the time. I was happily surprised to find a hot cooked breakfast with the best pancakes I've ever had.
